Cambodia - Pilot Project
WISH has initiated a project in Cambodia for drinking water. A village named Somroung 2 hours away from Seam Reap has been identified. The village does have any electrical supply or piped water. Water is taken from a pond nearby. The village headman has been consulted and a location has been set aside for the system.
WISH believes that every country has its own customs and beliefs. This project will serve to determine the feasibility of using membrane-based filtration systems in Cambodia. Suitable modifications will be made to the system if necessary. The technical ability of the end users will be accessed, and the overall sustainability of the project will be determined.

On the 17th of July 2007, a water filtration system was installed in the village of Somroung, near Seam Reap Cambodia. The installation team was led by Dr. Adrian Yeo.
The system provides drinking water to twenty families living in the area and is capable of removing bacteria and other particles from the water. It is installed next to a well in the village head's residence. The villagers were trained in the care and maintenance of the system, and a return visit by Mr. Simon Kudus will ensure that the system is well cared for and maintained.
WISH also repaired a pump left behind by another NGO.
